Brand identity · Concept development · Typography · Visual communication
The brief
Develop a distinctive visual identity for menswear designer Martin Diment, reflecting the craftsmanship and contemporary character of his clothing.
The challenge
Create an identity that felt refined and understated while retaining a meaningful connection to garment design.
The mark also needed to work across applications ranging from clothing labels to digital communications.
The solution
I developed a minimalist typographic identity centred on a single dressmaking pin.
Positioned between MARTIN and DIMENT, the pin creates a precise visual balance between the two six-letter names while referencing the tools and craftsmanship of tailoring.
The concept was extended into a compact M | D monogram, retaining the central pin as the defining element for smaller applications.
The outcome
A restrained, distinctive identity that combines typographic balance with a subtle reference to the designer's craft.
The mark was applied to garment labels and digital brand communications, providing a consistent visual signature without competing with the clothing itself.
